Why More Reminders Don't Create More Responsibility

By now, we've explored how our goals as homeschool moms can shift, and why what looks like a motivation problem is often really about ownership.

For a long time, I believed reminding my daughter was simply part of homeschooling.

I wasn't trying to control everything.

I was trying to help.

But over time, I realised something surprising.

Every reminder was keeping the responsibility with me.

Instead of giving my daughter the opportunity to notice, remember, and take ownership, I was doing that thinking for both of us.

That was a difficult truth to face, but it completely changed the way I approached our homeschool.
